Who We Are

There are two of us here at Soul Cocktails. Friends since 9^th grade, we drifted apart when we went to two different colleges and reunited when we settled in Charlotte to begin our new lives, post-graduation. We began this blog not only as a means to express the insecurities and adventures of our new lives, but to reach out and connect with other 20-somethings in the local Charlotte area as well.

MICHELLE

I am a red-head, a sister, a dreamer, a writer, a friend, a daughter, an old soul, a girly-girl, a fiery spirit, a pisces to a T.

 

I love roller coasters, the smell of hairspray and leaves crunching beneath my feet.  I truly believe that there is no better place in the world to be than the mountains in the fall.  I’m a daydream believer and a hopeless romantic. I value friends that bring out my inner silliness and I consider laughter to be one of the most vital ingredients in life.  The smell of bacon and coffee makes me feel brand new and snuggling makes me sleepy.  I think Disney World is the most magical place on earth.  I love playing in the waves and frolicking in the snow.  I value the relationships in my life and work hard to maintain them.  I drink milk like it’s going out of style.  Arguing, crying and hurting make me feel alive and I’d rather feel alive than numb any day of the week.  I’m a Broadway showtunes nerd and I think my alma mater is the most wonderful university on earth.  I know myself and love myself and I think that’s just fantastic.

I eat, live and breathe fashion…it’s in my blood.  I am a firecracker, valiant, jealous, artistic, stubborn-as-hell and very much a little girl at heart.  I still believe in fairy tales and finding Prince Charming.  Writing, music, and drawing are my escape from reality.  I am not a fan of the 40 hour work week.  My friends and family keep me grounded.  I believe in pushing the envelope, rules are meant to be broken.  Life is about embracing yourself and being confident with who you are – if you don’t love yourself, how do you expect anyone else to?  I am full of contradictions… I value my solitude and privacy but on the same note, I like to let loose and express my emotions, I enjoy quiet nights at home with a good book but thrive off of dirty martinis and nights out with the girls, I am the queen of making plans but can still be a “fly by the seat of my pants” kind of girl.  I am the definition of a Scorpio.  All I need is a Starbucks hazelnut soy latte in my hand and I can take on the world.  I am not your ordinary girl by any means and will never conform.  I enjoy when someone can fight with me a little, it’s nice to be challenged and I find the drive and excitement from it compelling.  I’m slightly O.C.D. about having things arranged and organized in a particular way.  I am fabulous and I am me, take it or leave it.
